lass Substrates for DWDM and Gain-Flattening Filters (WMS Series)
Ohara has developed a series of glass substrate materials specifically designed for Wavelength Division Multiplexing Filters. These glass materials, the WMS series, offer significantly improved thermal drift performance relative to existing glass types. The high CTE and strength combined with excellent transmission in the 1550nm ITU grid window make our WMS substrates the optimum choice for meeting strict performance requirements. Superior surface finishes along with WMS substrates' environmental durability improves production yields and long-term performance specifications.

ADVANTAGES:

  • High expansion coefficients for producing low-thermal drift filters.
  • High mechanical strength
  • High surface hardness to achieve optimum surface finish
  • Excellent chemical durability for long-term environmental stability and better processing results
  • Excellent thermal durability for high temperature processing
